"You don't know the history of the Republican party going back 100 years or you don't care" Actually, I do.They freed the slaves 150 years ago, integrated schools in '54, built the interstate, started us on the journey to the moon, signed almost all of the environmental legislation we have, were the last to raise SS taxes, gave us Medicare D to go along with Romneycare, and opened up trade with China.

Ok- someone mentioned this to me. (thank you- you know who you are) If I may play Marshall McLuhan here (Annie Hall reference)- I do NOT agree with you completely Koan. Nor do I agree with Wharf Rat 100%. And while you two have every right to duke it out anywhere other than my thread, just let me say I value both of you, and I actually enjoy reading both of you (When you're not pounding on each other.) Marshall McLuhan/Epicure- out (and Koan- there are a few honorable republicans. I don't agree with Brumar- but he is one. I think Romney might be one- though I'm not totally sure about him. He might have kissed Trump's ring for the right price. So there are very few good republicans- we can't tar them all with the same brush. Or I can't. But Koan- my thread rules are for my own enjoyment- right? It's like my living room. I let in people friendly to me. People I like. It's not a political manifesto. )
