People wonder why I moved to California despite the high cost of living and the massive amount of liberalism here. I don't think you're as old as I am but I moved here from the Midwest in the mid 80's, out of school, to work front end R&D as the Valley was the place to be. The state had a Republican governor and the legislator had a healthy split to it. Since they've taken the silicon out of Silicon Valley I'll not be able to make that 10%. I would leave but my life has been here for a long time and my two kids live nearby. I'm just hoping to hang on for about 10 more years and just grin and bear the wackiness.
