Sounds expensive! I don't know a lot of public schools that could afford all that stuff, just for the sake of leaving guns alone. I would suggest taxing the hell out of guns and ammunition. Drive the price up 4-5 times where they are now. If as a country we aren't going to pay attention to what the 2nd amendment actually says....gun buyers can still buy them, but pay dearly for them. also...liability insurance must be mandatory.

That is the whole point. Why should the bulk of society have to put in very expensive measures, many of which, like locking down the school and limiting entry and exit, can actually endanger lives, to support a hobby of a minority? Where does this make sense?

The point is that it is a REAL solution, not this bogus bullshit of outlawing a weapon as though IT were the killer. It is a political issue with the Left. Saving lives isn't even on the list. But you have convinced the 11th graders, so you'll probably get your way. What are you going to say to the next group of parents of dead kids after you take away the guns? "Damn, guess we were wrong!"
