You are insistent on someone speaking to do the downside of making the weapons illegal when there is no evidence, in fact, no reason to think, that doing so would change the outcomes. At best, some reduction in the numbers is possible.

But your assumption is that the reason the numbers are higher is because of the rifles which is tenuous.
