Are you really that stupid????
Depends on your definition of stupid. ;-)
My definition of stupid is shorting a high growth, market share gaining, earnings-beating company like CSCO for its fundamentals. So, according to my definition of stupid, I don't fit the category. I can understand shorting it because it is more volatile than most stocks and you think that the market is going nowhere but down, like Craig, the only other shorter on CSCO on the thread, does occasionally. But, I am a long term guy on the stock.

Those are split-adjusted #'s, moron.
OK, OK, I was wrong there. That is no reason to go ballistic on me.

See you at 35!
I think that you know where I stand on CSCO. So, why would you expect to see me at 35? There is no fundamental reason why I should ever see you at 35 on CSCO, unless you are talking about after the next 2-for-1 split, if it happens to be at 70. I am just curious: are you relying on your one contact for all of your reasons to short the company? What are your reasons for not liking this company? Stop beating around the bush and spit it out!! That is what this thread is all about. I'll see you at 60 next month. Too bad you will be in the red there. If If I do happen to see you at 35, then I would say that I would put the rest of my life savings into the stock to make me some more money. Cuz at that point, the whole market would have gone kaputt!! Have a good one....

could be, but looks like CSCO wants to tank too. The strongest are always the last to
die. But, they all die eventually.

Lucretius. You're awfully quiet. CSCO closed up 1 7/16 @ 55 11/16. If INTC announces decent numbers tomorrow afternoon we'll see a run up to 57+ easy. That sets CSCO up for their announcement in early Feb.. And, to spite what your friend might think, I would postulate CSCO beats expectations... .just from what I read in the public forum. Furthermore if they were going to miss, James Richardson (V.P. of Sales) wouldn't be telling the press about how well things are going in Europe. Rather he would be quiet so as not to induce a move up before earnings and during the quiet period. This alone tells me things must look decent for the quarter.

Are you planning on holding your short position through the earnings announcement? Given your belief that CSCO will miss I assume this is the position you plan on taking.
