I remember when the government gave subsidies to the tobacco industry and then spent a fortune combating the health costs of smokers. We eventually do the right thing but not until we've done everything else first.

My dad was a minor gun collector, and when he died, I inherited his arsenal, about a dozen guns. I put them in a closet of an apt. I shared with my ( unknown to me ) junkie younger brother. After I had kicked him out for not paying his part of the rent, I noticed the closet was empty of guns!
