What's to keep anyone from going postal? Cops, the military (perhaps a whole unit gunning people down in the streets)...

Most people just don't. People with concealed carry liscenes in particular just don't (I've seen statistics showing they have a lower crime rate than cops).

And if they do go postal, then you have school resources officers (who could also go postal, but also probably won't) and other armed teachers to stop them.

The teacher who goes postal when teachers aren't allowed to arm themselves will do so anyway (they aren't allowed "to go postal", if they ignore that, then I don't they'll say "darn, I could shoot up the school but I'm not allowed to bring a gun there", and won't have the possibility of being stopped by other armed teachers.
