'what rights are being trumped by gun owners"

More like gun users.

"The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776, which gave my son the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So I ask you, why are my son's unalienable rights not protected as fiercely as the right to bear arms?"

Um, it has been covered many, many times before. Granted, the exact phrase "this is an example of a gun right that supersedes the rights of others", but...

This is an example of a gun right that supersedes the rights of others...

The idea that there is nothing that can be done about the proliferation of guns. That it is a fact of life. Trying to restrict access to any type of gun is an intolerable encroachment on the rights of gun owners.

This is an example of a gun right that supersedes the rights of others...

That turning our schools into maximum security bunkers and teaching kids hand to hand combat is a much more acceptable solution to school shootings than restricting access to people who are actually responsible.

There are many others. There is a key idea, though. And that is that the needs and desires of gun owners must be accommodated by the bulk of society regardless of the monetary and personal costs to the rest of society. And if people die or are injured, it is just a necessary part of life,

The preceding sentence should have been preceded by

"This is an example of a gun right that supersedes the rights of others..."

My initial question remains, 'what rights are being trumped by gun owners?'

I thought I had given an example of that. Was it not acceptable because I did not list the actual rights in my example? Or perhaps by your question you mean what rights are actually being trumped now rather than in the cavalierly trumpy attitudes of the gun advocates, which was the context in which I responded.
