>>>"Your gun ownership does not effect my condition of happiness."
I'm less happy, but more secure, since I can now shoot down 2 cruise missiles or 4-legged carnivores before they come thru my door.<<<

Everybody is welcome to come through my door. I get all types showing up. I have only three rules, You can drink, you can smoke, you can yell all you want as long as but you take it outside. I call it my senior sanctuary. I have the best neighbors (always been lucky that way). For example, my lesbian neighbors can't understand why I let the Jehovah's witnesses in and vice versa. It's easy for me but sometimes takes a while to explain.

If you are less happy, I don't think those are reasonable excuses to claim unhappiness at any level.

With every good self-defense comes the possibility of bad self-offense. "<<<

I don't see it that way. Bad conduct is not excusable as a self defense. Brutal, cruel, or even just common rudeness is not enjoined to self-defense. Aggressive and defensive are not a matter of perspective. They are completely separated human actions, although one may be a response to the other.
