Easy.

Make combat weapons illegal for private ownership.

I'm an Army Vet. I appreciate the firepower of combat weapons when used against someone who is shooting back at me.

As a civilian, I've had 30-30 lever, 30-06, and 7MM Mag semi-auto rifles with small clips, .357 Mag, .45 and .44 Mag pistols.

I put a food on the table with the rifles and kept the bears at bay with the pistols.

There is no sporting reason for anyone in this country to own an AR-15 or equivalent.

That type of weapon is made for killing people, and it's too efficient at doing that to be in possession of anyone who wants one.

Can you cite a valid reason for citizens to own combat weapons?
