Terry, VSB will be the digital transmission standard until the FCC agrees to change it. The last transmission standard change the FCC made was about 40 years ago when color was introduced. Canada and Korea also are on the VSB standard. Zenith believes that Mexico, next, will also adopt the ATSC standard (with VSB and 5.1 Dolby, 16:9 screen size)and the rest of Latin America will follow Mexico. China, India and Japan are on the fence between selecting the ATSC standard and the one recommended by the Europeans.

With Intel adopting the ATSC standard and building VSB decoders and coders in future chips, the whole world could shift to ATSC/VSB transmissions.

On every future DTV, STB, PC and transmitter equipment in the world equipped to receive or send either Internet or DTV transmissions via VSB transmissions, Zenith will earn a licensing royalty.

The Street is in the dark on this one. If fully understood, Zenith would be trading at a much higher price. Wonder why Taylor is waiting to schedule an analysts' conference. Intel and Zenith should be meeting together with analysts asap to get this out and understood by the analysts. This could be the biggest change in both the PC and TV industries yet evidenced....TVs becoming PCs (or NCs) and PCs becoming TVs with just a flick of the remote or mouse, delivered by 19.1 Mbps wide VSB transmisions.

Convergence will be a fact, soon, and be delivered bt Zenith's patented VSB transmissions....
