My parents pulled that on me when I applied to graduate school in Philosophy. I ended up getting a graduate assistantship (free tuition) and $500 per month to live in the mid 70s. And then I became a tutor (after I graduated) and opened my own learning center and ended up selling it to Sylvan at the top of the market. I owe all my financial success to Philosophy.

People use to say to me all the time, "you can't do anything with philosophy, why study it?" My response: "I like what philosophy is doing to me."
