It's the literal truth. The AR15 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in .223. It's LESS powerful than ALL the normal deer calibers. And deer rifles can be bought semi-automatic too .. or lever action. The most popular rifle calibers used for deer are variants of the rifles used in WWI and WWII. The AR15 is popular because the Army switched to a lighter weight rifle and ammo in the 1960's. So a generation or two of soldiers got experience firing a light weight rifle not considered powerful enough to use for deer.

In a long but very satisfying interview, Jake Tapper absolutely obliterates Broward County Sheriff Israel over all the missed warnings about the Florida shooter.

I’m sorry but Israel just comes off as a dumb meathead who keeps making very bad excuses for not taking responsibility for the missed warnings. Jake Tapper does a great job of hitting him with every instance of dishonesty and incompetence that we know about – he even goes after Israel for knocking the NRA even as he knew his deputies didn’t do their jobs.

At one point Israel literally says he gave “amazing leadership” to his deputies, and Tapper really zeroes in on that.

Tapper really deserves kudos for this, even as the rest of the media has been absolutely horrid in revealing their policy preferences that all lean to the left.
