I don't know what the M1 magazine held, but if it was only 7 then that may h/b a reason they adopted a lighter, smaller rifle to replace it.

Why do you want an AR15?? I don't want one.

How popular is the AR15 with a 7 or 10 bullet clip?? I don't know.

As you know the M-1 had a 7 bullet clip
8 round enbloc clip actually.

How popular is the AR15 with a 7 or 10 bullet clip??

It's a magazine not a clip for this rifle and 7 round magazines do not exist, 10 round are good for shooting from a bench - but the 30 round is the standard capacity for this rifle and by far the most popular by a huge margin.
