I once dated a georgetown med student, all her friends were med students there, met many all but one talked about the field they were going in because of the money they could make in those fields, what fancy car they were gonna buy, houses in aspen and such. They care about the money believe me

Principle VI of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) “Principles of Medical Ethics,” states that a “physician shall, in the provision of appropriate patient care, except in emergencies, be free to choose whom to serve, with whom to associate, and the environment in which to provide medical care”. Hence, no common law duty or ethical imperative exists outside of a patient-physician relationship that requires a physician to treat every patient.
