koan,

You are trying to tell me that you are Correct and I am wrong using Logic. So let's evaluate your Logic. You say Scientists (S) are Educated (E) and Educated people tend to be Liberal (L), therefore, Scientists tend to be Liberal and they deal in Facts/Logic (F), and therefore, Liberal ideas are Correct (C).

Using Logic denotation, we'd restate the above to be:
  1. S = E
  2. and E = L
  3. and L = F
  4. Ergo, S = L
  5. and L = C

# 1-2: I'll buy these. There are statistics that say as much.
# 3: This one is a logical fallacy. There is no evidence that Liberals use more facts and logic than Conservatives. There are no statistics that prove that. You are just making this up. If I was to use anecdotal evidence with a recency bias, I would say that Liberals are not using facts at all. They are very unhinged and hysterical right now. Making unfounded accusations that cannot be backed up by evidence and supporting, Hillary, a criminal whom we have evidence of her crimes and saying she did nothing wrong. This does not sound like a group of people who are following logic and facts.
# 4: OK. You showed stats proving this, so I'll buy it.
# 5: This is again where your logic falls apart. Here are the logical fallacies I can see, with just a minor amount of thought:
* Your biggest assumption is that Scientists are the only Educated people, or at least you imply they are the largest group of Educated people. There are many, many other groups of Educated people who are equally as smart as Scientists, but who lean Conservative, not Liberal. I gave you one such group with statistical data to back it up...CEOs.
* The second biggest assumption you are making and implying is that Educated people have ideas that are more Correct than uneducated people. So how do we define what Correct is? I think Liberals think Correct means, whatever a book or study says it is. I think Correct is whatever has been proven to work in the real world. For example, I believe in Climate Change because the statistics prove it and because if you open your eyes you can see the Earth's flora and fauna are changing rapidly as a result its impacts. I don't believe just because Al Gore told me to. Another example, Capitalism has proven to lift more people out of Poverty than any other economic system in the history of the world. Socialism and Communism have proven to drive more people into poverty and cause more deaths than many other systems in the history of the world. I believe in Capitalism, not because I am ideologically driven, but because I have experienced both of those systems in the real world and I have studied political economic history and read everything I can get my hands on those systems throughout my life. The historical record is unambiguous.
* The third fallacy of logic you are making is assuming that only Scientists use the scientific method in evaluating ideas. Many other disciplines use statistics and hypothesis testing and repeatability to do exactly the same thing. In business, we call this machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, Six Sigma, etc. I've found that business people are very diverse in their political opinion. Some lean left and some lean right.

I'll stop there, but this demonstrates that you are making trying to tell me that the party you belong to are full of members like yourself, who are more Logical and Fact oriented. And yet, you yourself are making statements that are verifiably shaky, full of assumptions, and low on facts and logic. You should be more introspective and more skeptical of positions that paint your opponents as troglodytes. You might find more common ground with others and move your causes further, if you did so.
