JL, It could be that Salomon does not have two different buy ratings. To them a buy is a buy....and a hold is a hold and a sell is a sell. 1, 2 , 3. They may be above the game. Anyhow, I like the buy. I think law enforcement live scan is about to bust loose. Salomon says that police departments really must have the live-scan in order to do their jobs properly.....and that only 10% have them now. With Federal and state money being plentiful.......I think police departments will get alot of help and have live-scan machines close to the top of their "need" list. The $10 million federal grant that the Chicago newspaper reports will be used to help pay for the Cook County afis system is an example. The project is reported as $14 million....so almost 2/3 will be paid by the feds. I hope NEC Technologies can announce the win soon.......143 municipalities (now using ink and roller) would require over 100 live-scan machines, I would think. If they are to be LS-21 machines......this would be very, very major for IDX.....whose largest contract in the history of the company was the New York City contract.....of 85 machines (I think) I can't see how police departments can do their jobs if they can't find out in minutes if they have a really bad guy or gal in their jail. Live-scan can make a huge difference....saving time, saving lives. I think any police department should be able to pick up the phone and get a TP-600....with the bill sent to the Federal Government.
