Hi Taro,
I had almost this exact same conversation with my son. I showed him the sampling bias and at first he doubted me, until I showed him how it skewed the results. Once he saw the math, then he agreed with me. Then he asked me the same question you did. I told him what I'll tell you. I think during the Presidential election, they knew they had a very big problem with Hillary. The inside polls probably told them she was in danger of losing. So the MSM, who was then in her favor, decided that using these Dem oversampled polls, which showed Hillary as a 10 point favorite over Trump, would discourage Independents and some Republicans from going out to vote. They were using propaganda to create the air of inevitability around Hillary's coronation. They thought it would work.

I remember that night, because I stayed up all night to see if Trump would win. I was watching all the polls on Politico. I went through each major poll and looked up their sampling methodology. I felt that Rasmussen was the most likely to be accurate and that others were just so obviously biased. I mean when your voter registration roles of likely voters show X% Democrats and then some of these polls were sampling at a rate of X+12% Democrats, there's just no way that is going to be close to accurate, although it will most certainly make Hillary seem like she's winning.

Bottom line is I am always amazed at how people completely ignore logic and facts in their headlong pursuit of validating their own beliefs. Propaganda is a very powerful thing. Unfortunately for the MSM, I think their attempt at getting Republicans to stay home actually backfired. The Millennials hatred of Hillary was only exceeded by their hatred of Trump. But my theory is that Millennials believed the fake polls the MSM was blanketing the airwaves with, and they were already disaffected by Bernie's loss. So since they thought Hillary would win without them, they stayed home. Oops. Trump won.

I've said this before, but Karma is a beautiful bitch who never forgets and her retaliation is wonderfully poetic. So that's my theory. If the glove fits...
