I am starting to get this eerie feeling about a reversal occuring from the normal earnings season dynamic. In most previous quarters the market has rallied in anticipation of earnings upside surprises and then sold off even when companies slightly beat estimates. However, right now there is so much fear about earnings disappointments that stock prices may already factor in slight earnings disappointments like MOT. My guess is that for companies that come close to hitting their number and have a good story to tell going forward they may see a relief rally in their share prices. MOT will be a good test of this hypothesis as will Intel.
