Rocking the boat just for the sake of rocking it will only to take it on water. You still haven’t explained how adding a few hundred $ to the cost of a car is going to help with US jobs.

I think the US steel industry totals about 87k Jobs. How is protecting those moving the needle? It is the manufacturing of finished steel that is providing many more jobs, and those might be out at an disadvantage.

I do think the tax cuts will turn out to be beneficial, mostly because they favor insourcing over outsourcing and they even the playing field for domestic companies compared to multinationals with taxes, Just look at the tax rates these multinational payed before the tax cut - it is hard to find one that payed more than 20%.
