Bill; I found a typo in it were I said the MEGA 10 Tail 30
I ment tail 20.
I'm sure the system can be used like an occilator,
and think it will work well but will take more data and
practice to get down. In reality it's simple as hell.
The TOP 10 stocks have 4 times more power than the bottom
20..they got 4 x more votes, and represent the majority,
if not in people in money. The bottom 20 can make the market
look like its going up when it really ain't or the other
way around, and that is what sets up things for people to
buy , when they should be selling, or sell when they should
be buying. The trend is your friend..but you got to be able
to "see it" with out the smoke and mirrors, that the index alone
and on its own is subjet to resort to.
-----------------
BTW in one message before I mentioned I had found a differance
in the avg price x share= total market cap, and the real cap,
and was trying to trace it down, 28B dif. Well I gave up as
it dawned on me that it was likley tied to ( short sales )
which are invisable to the program, and just show up as a lump
or gap in the price., but it gave me an idea of how many shares
are short on the group..not all that much at this time.
-----------------
Some time ago I down loaded all the short intrest in the NAZ about
ten years worth and worked a month sorting and graphing the
higest ones, vs the stock..even did total short intersest vs
the NAZ..found a strong connection to the way shorts affect
the price..alas the data was always old by the time I could
get it, so the work did me little good, except to be acidemic.
-------------------
AS short intersest rises so does the price of the stock..almost
always, when it drops off ( a good % of shorts quit and cover ),
the stock spikes, and then drops. Charts show that very clear.
IF you could get timly short reports
you would have one heck of an indicator. But the brokerage houses
wont release that data till it's too late, I'm most sure they use
it.
-----------------
Any way I did enough work to reconize ( finally ) why the real
added up cap did not match, the avg price x shares cap, as
the short intersest built into the price..
to explain fully may take more typing than I want to do now.
