The true danger here is that the Millennials will inherit this country over the next 10 years as the Baby Boomers die off. Gen X is too small to make a difference. We're are about to enter into a Socialist nightmare of censorship, new words in the English language that eliminate the ability of us to say what we really are thinking, welfare and entitlements replacing hard work and meritocracy, universal basic income and other free shit at the expense of the remaining 45% of us who work or worked for a living most of our lives, and a massive loss of our standard of living as a result of the above. I just don't see any way out of this, because the Millennials, our most educated generation, are the least knowledgeable when it comes to political/economic history and the clear and present danger to freedom and economic prosperity that Socialism and Communism represents. They have shown themselves to be willing to burn down Universities and engage in censorship and violence to silence people who don't subscribe to their echo chamber. None of this bodes well for the next 10-20 years. We're going to see a reckoning in this country that makes what we're seeing now pale in comparison. I just hope that cooler heads will prevail in both extremes in this country and we can find some way to get back to the civil discourse, peaceful transitions of power, and respect for dissenting opinions that this country has historically aspired to.
