To All: Here are the details on Sun's DARWIN announcement today.
Sun Darwin Systems Using UltraSparc-II1
(http://www.sumnet.com/enews/issue/chst011298.html)

From the article:

"...The two new systems, which will sell for less than $5,000 and less than $10,000, respectively, will be powered by the new 300MHz, 64-bit UltraSparc-IIi implementation of Sun's V9 microprocessor architecture. Sun has stripped the multiprocessing capability out of the UltraSparc and created what it terms a value proposition for workstations customers..."

=====================================================================
The new hardware looks very good to me. There is to be an interview on CNBC this AM with Ed Zanders.
