Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 220525 "welcoming Spring" somewhere between school, ballet, homework, reading, hanging out w/ friends, and exploring on own quality time, the coconut still finds time for brush painting. she says it relaxes her. i believe her but am surprised she truly understands the concept of and appreciates relaxation. she reads for fun, even if for school; thank goodness. she always has her kindle or an old fashioned book at the ready. her school is like most schools, a miniature society. she tells me that there is a popular group to which she does not belong (nor apparently has desire to be invited - for the group as a group has more of the usual problems one can guess), but she never got picked on by any member of the group, perhaps because folks in the group at times need help from her w/ whatever. she says she is welcomed by other groups, but essentially chooses simply hang out w/ a few good friends who are 'serious' and studious, and may not be especially close to each other but for her good office. she has good friends from school (class, chamber choir), and ballet. i told the coconut that she is in a good space, to remain in that space. recently the social studies teacher assigned members to form teams for a particular group assignment. erita was perturbed and for the first time in a long time had a beef. the two boys assigned together with her in a group managed to get a mere "meeting expectation" for project grade whereas she herself generally gets "exceeding". erita noted that she did all her research work, but the IT part of the project for the presentation was the responsibility of the two boys; and they did subpar work. One of the two boys was so happy to be assigned to same group as erita at the beginning, "oh, i am going to get 'exceeding expectation' this time" on the strength of erita's work. erita learned something about leadership, and exercise of leadership, and QC. i am so glad that without much effort from parents, the coconut is nearly ready.
