for each 1% drop in pricing, cat loses $.25 in eps - ask yourself, will Komatsu reduce pricing in order to keep people employed? About half of Cat eps is non-US.

Hey James

Want to look at a p/e lok at APM. Cat will survive and have not yet felt the affect of S.E.Asia crisis but they will. I will be traveling to Hong Kong and Korea soon and I know what I will be seeing in regards to Cat equipment sales. So many owners of new Cat equip are going belly up and the equipment is being sold at half price that end users are paying here in the U.S.A. 1998 is going to not only ayear to back the truck up but plan on using a Cat 777B to hold all the cash.
