Alcatel is another nice one. Impressive product porfolio and one helluva DS3 mux. They also have a hot xDSL product. It's mostly Rockwell International product that they acquire a few years back.

Well, we shall see what affect MOT has tomorrow, especially after their morning conference call. Up tommorrow is INTC after the close. If they fall short, that could be more serious than MOT, which already is at a 52 week low. Thursday is SUNW and they gave negative comments about Asia the last time around. Earnings were impacted by dollar and Asia slow down, also.

Frankly, QCOM earings are only impacted in Asia, presently by Korea. They buy the ASIC's in dollars but royalties are in local currency. Finnished product isn't the big player there. It's the US and Canada where they have the biggest market for handsets. With all the deployments of systems over the second half of the year and then Xmas sales. I contend that the company is holding back earnings to smooth out future Q's. I expect them to meet expectations and slightly exceed them this Q.
