Some rumors from NSM thread on Yahoo:

messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com

Some of it seems a little far fetched:

Sometime in the next few weeks the South Portland fab will receive the first two or three .25-micron wafer steppers----ahead of schedule because a company in Korea didn't want to take them. More steppers arrive in March, but the plant won't be at full capacity until autumn.

In the meantime, they're buying .35 micron capacity from Taiwan Semiconductor, and pressing IBM to make more Cyrix chips. IBM, by the way, will almost certainly apply their new copper process.
