TopCat, Believing in God because of Pascal's Wager is not faith. I disagree. Pascal's Wager requires you to accept the possibility that maybe, just maybe, there is truth to the scriptures. That's what I'd call "faith the size of a mustard seed," which is mentioned in the Bible. Meanwhile, if I came to your door and tried to sell you "hell insurance" for $10, would you buy it? Of course not, even if I said, "Well you never know. $10 is a very small price to pay to make sure you don't end up in eternal damnation. If I'm wrong, you just lost $10, but if I'm right, uh oh!" That example is meant to illustrate how Pascal's Wager is often misunderstood by most people. Of course it's not just "hell insurance," because that concept isn't new. In fact, the Catholic Church was selling "hell insurance" for centuries, before Martin Luther and the Reformists called out the corrupt practice. Tenchusatsu
