OT: Y2K Vulnerabilities

There has been speculation that Y2K has been an accelerant in certain bank mergers of late. Got a big problem? Sell it to someone else and let them deal with it. If true, watch for potential 'indigestion' from M&A's over the next few quarters.

My personal take is that most companies fall into one of two camps. Those who have the situation well in hand, having planned for this for quite some time, and the procrastinators who will solve their problem by wholesale systems replacement. The winners from this latter group will be companies like INTC, MSFT, CPQ, CA, EMC, PSFT, SAPHY, etc., etc. will sell the replacement systems.
