Hi Zeev,

I am quite familiar with a small frim (engineering) that does a great deal of the design and manufacturing for AMAT. Interesting data....Prior to Xmas, they were working two shifts to get the AMAT work out the door. Now, the amat orders (backlog) have been pushed out to the distant future and all the amat sub contract work has been grinding to a quick halt. Seems that AMAT has had to go to some Korean firms and physically remove equipment (or so I am told). I think from this data (source=very reliable) that AMAT is in for some very hard times, and soon. I don't know if it will affect this quarter or will show up in the next, but times appear to be getting very hard. Things did not fall apart this fast last go round when AMAT had to do sizeable layoffs.

Steve

Politicians in U.S. attack IMF for its aid to Asia
moneynet.com@NEWS-P1*news-p1

So far the bull always get the help hand from the big goveronment to bailout those irresponsible wealthy capitalists. I don't understand why the financial world has to be tied up by Suharto clan. Now many nations can say "if you don't bail me out, the whole finanical world will crash". Where is gonna to end?

Zeev, huge rallies in Asian markets last night,, this is getting wild , down 10 or 12% , up 7 or 8%, I don't believe I have ever seen markets act like this, maybe junior golds. This type of action sure flies in the face of buy and hold thinking.
