Mischief is possible. So is general misanthropy. Some folks just don;t like technology (like the unabomber. Could also be some fellow who got kicked off SI and wants revenge. Who knows?

Henry N.

Well it's 3 AM EST and I just now was able to acess the SI thread.
AOL cannot get it, and they couldn't get access to the MS explorer.
I gave them hell for three hours, and now the Microsoft IE engine
can pick up the thread.

Henry, have you noticed the conf in SD on current FDA approach to drug/medical device approval? I noticed that IMAT was up shrarply today..I wonder if there is a connection or how the FDA policy will affect the biotechs developing drugsand medial devices to help patients who are costing the Medicare system a lot om $$$. I.E., Imatron provides a low cost alternative to angiography that would save big bucks to medicare.

Boris Yelstin was just followed up with Imatron scan ..but radiologists continue to resist this since they make so much $$ off of angiograms and angioplasty. I coordinate medicare services for patients leaving hospitals or skilled nursing facilities to home. It is sickening to see how much money is spent to line the pockets of individual with special interests. I don't think this will last because there won't be enough money to pay the bills (kind of like the Soviet Union disapearing so amazingly quickly because they went broke over their bunk bureacracy with the arms race).

It sound like Ligand may offer some solutions that will prevent the treatment of illness (like insulin resistance and the costly neopathy accociated with it. ( Retinal, amputation, renal neuropathy, etc, ect.)

What do you think?

John O
