Hi J.T. Was down with the cold. I've heard that there's a great new drug for a cold- Instead of the usual three days it cures you in only 72hrs. I'm puzzled by today's action. I thought the market would open only slightly up and then turn down. MSFT ans INTC much stronger then I thought. INTC- 5 days EMA crossed up over 21 EMA yesterday for the first time since 9/25. A strong positive. There's no way IMO INTC can make $1.00 this Q. In 3rd Q report the management were talking IMO 90-95c for the 4th Q. Since then we had a worsening SEA problems and the important survey saying 40-50% of PCs sold in the US in Dec. were under $1000 machines. Very bad for INTC earnings. I think 90c is the best they can do. 85-88c more likely. Over 92c would be a big surprise to me. Under 80 also unlikely. Would the narket treat INTC making 87c the same as MOT coming 3c short? Sounds crazy to me, but the market has the last word. that 90c target was marked down from 1.04 if my memory serves me right. And the company doesn't have much to look for in '98 as far as margins are concerned. MSFT- With DOJ up their a**, the stock is just $5 under the levels where the CFO was leery of valuations and Bill and Paul were selling. Technicaly, if it breaks over 132 again it looks like it's heading towards 136-138 in a matter of days, and NDX would reach 1050. My T.A. is currently showing bullish signs for the NDX couple. I don't get it, BWDIK? ATG
