ZZ, as mentioned this has been going on with the Republican party for a 100 years. It was Hoover, Harding and Coolidge that caused the great depression and then refused to help the people saying: "let it run it will get rid of the deadwood. It was the pubs that fought FDR's New Deal which rescued millions of poverty stricken people and mostly old women. It was FDR that put millions to work during the great depression with work programs and of course the pubs hated it. It was the pubs who did not want to fight Hitler until Pearl Harbor. And the pubs that have fought every program to help the poor. It was the conservatives that gave us Joe Macarthy, Nixon, fought against the 1964 civil rights act, Bush and now Trump. And the pubs that keep putting us in debt with tax cuts for the rich and stupid wars. And last it is the Republican party that is the refuge for the racists, misogynists, homophobes, criminals and willfully ignorant. It was Henry Luce that lied about the Viet Nam war and myriad right wing Republicans like Henry Mellon Scaife and Hunt brothers that caused so much trouble and right wing radio, and media spewing out lies and right wing nonsense. This is nothing new.
