One would think intelligent people who are in short supply relative to the demand could find other challenging work at salaries better than the artificially depressed IT sector wages. I am sure I would have made more if there were a million fewer Asians competing for the same work. I have never made the evil 1%, but spent most of my career in the top 5% and most of this century in top 2-3%. At that level, I am willing to leave a few $ on the table to do something I enjoy and am good at.
