Only in red districts.

An interesting example of tribalism is that Anchorage has half the states population, but the capitol is in Juneau. The Republicans have wanted to move the capitol to Anchorage forever, for no other reason than their economic benefit. Money as usual with the pubs.

But the Democrats and even Anchorage Democrats wanted to leave it in Juneau as moving it would destroy Juneau's economy they being so small. But the Anchorage Democrats knew voting against moving it would be political suicide so most voted to move it.

But one principled legislator, Bill Parker, voted not to move it one year and was voted out. But he ran again two years later and didn't do that again and won the seat back, and after that no one in Anchorage dared vote against moving it.

Too many people unable to sympathize with others. Anchorage did not need the capitol and to Juneau it was life or death economically.

Lack of compassion for others is the primary reason I have been a yellow dog Democrat for over 50 years.

<<Wouldn't that be political suicide?
