What? You think spending $1 trillion a year on the military is not a good idea? How dare you question the military industrial complex! LOL. I've argued that point until I'm blue in the face. I don't think it will ever change. The GOP and the DNC are complicit in this corruption. Remember, when Pelosi asked for $100B to combat Russian propaganda, when Russia only spent around $10 million on their recent interference? This is an example of how quick Congress is to spend our money with no regard for proportion, rationality, or return on investment. The US is going the way of Rome, but we have several more stops along the way. I think we'll become Japanese next. Rome is the last stop in the journey from a wealthy, free, and independent people to a poor, divided people in bondage to others.

Rome spent more and more money on the military and their expansion until they became over-extended, morally corrupt, and then they started to dilute their denarius until printing more money stopped working. Eventually, it all became too much and they collapsed into a million pieces. The US is doing the same thing. We're just following along on a well worn pattern of nations. The history books are replete with the story arcs of countries just like ours.

I do have one hope and it is our youth. I love the fact that David Hogg and the other High Schoolers are taking on Washington. God speed! To quote David Hogg: "Our parents don't know how to use a fucking Democracy. So we'll have to do it." LOL. I love the fire of youth. And there's a lot to be said for his observation. Gen X especially is a generation that is not just small, but hard working, preferring to keep their heads down and provide for their parents and their kids. But the Millennials and Gen Z are large, loud, and willing to break up the status quo. We can take hope in that. I hope they have the persistence to tear down what we have now and rebuild it into something better. What we have now has become sclerotic and full of swamp creatures. We need a complete reset to bring government monstrosity back under the control of our people, guided by the Constitution. It's going to take some doing to get our government to care about the people again. Right now, they simply do not and I lay the blame equally at the GOP and the DNC, two parties that are more concerned about power than about what is good for the 99%.
