That's a terrible result macro too. Insanity writ large. But nature didn"t produce our big brains without eliminating 99.9999999% of attempts. DNA selection is a brutal merciless and relentless process.

I have been hoping we would bootstrap by intelligent selection. Looks like that's wishful thinking though it's not Game Over yet
