Regarding "wire" requests - a few months ago, I wanted to transfer shares to Datek, using DWAC, which is a wire transfer of shares.

It turned out that the transfer was initiated by sending a FAX to Datek. Datek had to read the FAX, and initiate the electronic transfer from their end. It took about a week and a half, and many phone calls to get this to happen correctly. It seems that there was only one person who knew how to do that, and she was away those days.

On the other hand, I did another transfer a few weeks ago, and the shares were in my account the next day.
