SleazZpat, TARP was a concerted effort by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress, and it got started under the Bush administration. There was nothing Obama did that Bush didn't do in his final months in office. The only thing he did differently was start down the path toward socialized medicine, but that had little to do with the Great Recession. Even then, the Great Recession turned out to be not-so-great. Only a complete moron believes that Obama himself prevented a "crisis from turning into a catastrophe." Tenchusatsu
