The market is tanking because we appear to be past the euphoria phase of the bull market. During that phase, nothing shakes the market, not even someone voting for a blithering idiot. As the market comes out of the euphoria phase news matters. A trade war will destroy the US economy because we need China to buy our record debt because republicans gave tax cuts to rich people. The US government has to borrow $300 billion this week, the highest weekly amount since the height of the Great Recession. Facts still matter in the real world, especially after the euphoria phase ends.
