Hi Ten,
David Hogg is a Senior in High School. So two things. First, he's not a Millenial...that's the generation that came before his. Second, you've got to give the kid a break. He's just a kid for God's sake. Of course, he's acting tough, because it's nerve racking to be the center of national attention when you are only 17. He has no experience in anything and is probably masking one hell of a lot of nervousness with the tough guy act. Another high schooler got up for a speech at that rally in DC and puked her guts out. Just remember, these are kids. So I want to encourage them whenever I can and I really like the fact that they are so engaged on an issue that is important to them. What stances they take are important too, but first they need to act and they are doing it!

Also, I think you got some of the facts of his position wrong. I listened to his full interview...you know the one where he cursed a lot. In it, he said that he doesn't want to take away the 2nd Amendment nor take away people's guns, but he does want to increase the age when people can buy them and toughen the laws for people with mental issues. I thought that was a nuanced position.

The extremists on both sides are the nut jobs that I worry about. The right wants no new laws and to leave things as they are. In other words, do nothing. The left wants to get rid of the 2nd Amendment. I think they are both wrong.

We need to do something, because we need to protect our kids and they are begging us to help them. But we don't need to shred the Constitution to provide that help.
