Actually, it was. Nixon going to China was the most significant foreign policy break through in generations. It still stands to this day as such. That, and the EPA were some of the reasons why I really liked Nixon when I was in high school. Unfortunately, Nixon was also tragically flawed. His paranoia and inability to deal rationally with opposition led to his downfall and disgrace. He could have been a classical character in an ancient Greek tragedy.
