2.7% as of last year were home-schooled. There is no substantial violence. It may be there are cases where homeschooling is used as a pretense for a kid not being in public school so the kid can be tortured or something.

This is the kind of argument you'd expect from a damned teachers union maybe.

If a person wants to teach his kids with a religious bent that is his constitutional prerogative. That's no one's business. In my experience, the home-schooler parents I've known, are about expanding their child's education, not contracting it.

My niece homeschools her four children and they are all brilliant, well-behaved children. (In some places, they have used public schools I believe, but whenever possible they home school). The family is "different" in that they don't participate in social media, but these kids are rock solid stable. Anecdotal but I don't find any cause for concern about the quality of education.
