I just proved to you that MANY Republicans voted against the latest budget bill and MANY Democrats voted for it. In addition, you'll have to prove it to me where you see every Republican voting for every tax cut. That is patently false. You really need to stay away from absolutist statements. It makes you look ignorant and illogical. As to the CEOs, they are businessmen. They can always be counted on to talk their book, which by that I mean they will want what is good for their company, their shareholders, and themselves. That's called Capitalism. Some will have moments of altruism, but more often than not, they will be Capitalistic. That's what we want them to be. The more successful they are, the more prosperous our country will be. However, that's why we need controls. For example, we need to revisit and overturn the Citizens United ruling, which gave corporations a huge amount of power to sway votes. We need to limit the influence of lobbyists, especially foreign lobbyists. And we need a Congress that is not exempt from the laws they pass. There are many things we need to do, but expecting a CEO of a company to be altruistic is not the best idea I have heard nor is it really achievable. Take a look at Zuckerberg. That guy is a flat out liar. He said he'd never sell our private data. Lies. Congress needs to act to secure Data Privacy, as a right as critical to Democracy as Free Speech, and the Bill of Rights. Tim Cook of Apple is right on. But even Tim Cook is talking his book. He says they could make a lot of money by monetizing people's private data, but they don't do that, prefer to sell us all their products instead. He's full of shit. They use data science, machine learning, and big data to do all sorts of things to make their products more attractive to consumers. They are monetizing our personal data just as surely as Zuckerberg is, but Tim Cook is just doing it with more subtlety. So bottom line is I want our CEOs to push the boundaries of what is possible, which is what enables Capitalism to be so dynamic, innovative, and prosperous. However, we need a Congress, an FTC, and a Consumer Protection Agency that pushes back when necessary to protect our citizens. And that requires an independent Congress, not the corrupt and captured Congress we have now.
