Yeah, agreed. With me, I never took anything seriously until I met my first real girlfriend that I fell head over heels for when I was 16. At that point, I didn't like to joke around about her. It just didn't feel right and I considered our relationship sacrosanct from my crazy friends and their gutter humor. I think most teenage guys are that way. We'd joke about the generalized girl, but not so much when it's your girlfriend, sister, mom, or someone close. Then you grow up and teenage gutter humor isn't as funny anymore...to most of us that is. I still have a friend or two who never seemed to grow up, though. Also, when I occasionally visit my friends from high school, it sometimes feels like we never grew up when we are together. :)
