It depends on several factors. It can be a simple Mendelian recessive. In that case, it would take the recessive gene from both parents before it can express. On average, one child out of 4 would be homosexual. There aren't a lot of things in humans, outside of say eye color, that works this way. Considering it seems to be on a spectrum, from strictly homosexual to strictly heterosexual with variants in between, it is more likely more than one gene is involved. And then social pressure can make a difference for those in between to be one or the other or bisexual.

And there are even more complex ways of inheritance. Things dealing with behavior tends to be.
