Get real Davis. 175,000 is only slightly more than 1/2 of 1% of the stock outstanding. That's not only not enough to force down the price as you are suggesting but its an insubstantial amount, especially considering the companies price history during tax selling. What will be more interesting is what the short position will be this month.

Additionally I never said the S-3--or Reg D people weren't shorting the stock before Jan., or any other time. What is asked was if one was going to force the price down why not make your best effort prior to Jan. 1 when tax selling is over?

You haven't made a convincing case of your convictions. Why don't you present your best evidence here to be judged by the readers. If you have any info other than your suspicions I'd like to see it.

As for the SEC I welcome an investigation of the trading activity. Mine, yours, and anyone elses. We are both guilty of the same thing. Bad timing on the buy side isn't a crime.
