I can't argue chemistry with you. I had a hard enough time with optical isomers and the Krebs cycle.

With regard to ataxia and its adjectival form, I must agree with you that ataxic seems to be preferred. At least that's the one I hear. But then again, I hear "dyslexic" too, and I don't like that.

Who said language had to be consistent anyway <g>? Your ataxia analogy sure wipes out my Greek combining form theory for my preferred form.
