Concur again. That's why I like Triquint. It might be sci fi, however, I think that Micheal Crichton could come up with a good PowerWave story line.

I wonder if Ballard is working on phonefuel as well as the fuelcell. Does Deutsche Telecom own any Benz shares? Those German conglumerates can get quite incested you know.

Well Maurice, I didn't sell, in fact I bought back what I sold last yr.

After thinking through MOT's rpt last night, it appears that QCOM should be doing much better.

On one hand, Korea may hurt. On the other hand, Samsung is now selling outside Korea. This should bring in new ASIC revenue and offset some of the royalties lost within Korea.

I am still bearish on the market but can't think of any stock that I would rather hold to ride through the storm.

In most cities, there is a considerable amount of "background" RF available for capture: radio (AM & FM) plus television. I dare say that in the San Francisco bay area, where I now live, there are several megawatts of power being continuously radiated at RF frequencies. I don't know how many microwatts or milliwatts could be captured with an antenna/rectifier that would fit into a handheld device, but it has to be orders of magnitude above the background microwave radiation from space.....

As a ten year old, I recall listening to radio (KRLD and WFAA in Dallas) via earphones connected to a crystal set powered solely by the received RF signal. Of course, the antenna was somewhere between 50 and 100 feet long!

During daylight, or in strong artificial light, solar cells produce useful amounts of power. I have a Casio scientific calculator powered by solar cells which will operate on any light sufficient to read the display.

Combining such sources with an efficient storage device might accumulate enough energy for useful communications, or at least augment battery life. Especially as the power demand of the cellphone circuitry is minimized.

Maurice, Found this article while looking for info on Vodaphone trials. Thought it might add to your "Antenae Dip" research. Any patents pending?

I wonder if this has had any impact on Vodaphone's interest in CDMA/GSM trials? One would think that a CDMA air interface would better met European guidelines.

Maybe you could investigate Mr. Cherry's paper and provide us with one of your southern revelations.

Just the thought of a CDMA air interface for GSM equipment has to be ....... for all GSM phone folks.
