Five years is an eternity in the memory chip business, so who knows what its going to look like then. But the NAND business is the only one left of any size that makes good money for Toshiba, so if they do get rid of it, they will be a shrunken image of their past glory. so they may as well take the risk and do their best to keep up and maybe lead in the future along with WDC.
